Flying Today
Barbados
Didn't have much time here.
The only bit of the island we saw was driving from the port to the airport.
However, we had a great driver who acted as tour guide and not only pointed out places of interest but gave us a lesson in the social history of the place as well.
He also sang songs that the sugar cane workes sing as they work.
Wages for the cane cutters is 26 Bajun dollars per ton ($13 US ...£8.50).
Women can cut up to 7 tons per day.....the men 15 tons.
Now that is hard work.
These flying fish were easier to shoot than the ones I was trying to shoot from the deck of the ship.
Now the holiday is over and we have to fly home.
Other holiday pictures are HereHere.
