Frail beauty

Back up to the hills, and the rain that threatened to swamp us as it has swamped São Paulo and southern Brazil in the last couple of days hasn’t yet materialized. Let’s hope it holds off for the Doctors’ tournament tomorrow, a yearly shindig with an entry fee of a couple of kilos of dry goods for the needy. In return, the club’s doctors treat the competitors to lunch (the economics sound dodgy to me).

These little flowers were planted by the river where I walk the dogs and have received no attention since, but seem to thrive. The flowers last just a day.

Ooops, I think I just heard thunder.
