A Slice of Street

The man came today to assess the termite damage, and although he reckons they are in the walls and in wood pretty much throughout the house, at least he reckons he can treat it – no new roof, at least, not yet. So it looks as if we’ll be in a fair amount of chaos for the next few days. Might have to take to the hills.

It was only when the smells of someone else's lunch started drifting through the window that I realised both that I was hungry and that the market would soon be closing down. So I suggested that HH come to the market with me and do some exercises on the machines there while I scooted round and collected fruit and veg. Then we repaired to a little restaurant on the corner, which digital daze and Barrioboy will know well, but that we hadn't tried before.

We had an 'honest meal'  as a friend would say,  and enjoyed watching the people passing by. I think the bike being mended belongs to our waiter (I managed to cut him in half, but liked this shot better than the others I took), and he was keeping a wary eye on things. He even took it for a spin to test the brakes.

Thanks for some stars and kind messages on yesterday's blip - I'll answer them tomorrow - right now, I have some jam on the stove.
