Everyday I Write The Book

Grin and bear it

A long wet Sunday can be grim, and you may just need to get out, even if it just to ASDA to buy ingredients for the home made Christmas cake. Never know what old friends you will bump into of course. We always seem to see this guy at this time of year, then at the beginning of November he just vanishes.

Had a beautiful flock of coal tits in the garden this morning. I went out to put some stuff on the compost heap at the bottom of the garden and as I walked back I glanced ‘round and saw about seven or eight of them suddenly fly into the garden. They spent a few minutes raiding the apple tree for food and then flew off together. They probably live in the nearby woods and now that winter is coming, are going through neighbouring gardens looking for supplies. This was between rain showers when the sun was shining.

Up at 6am with Dylan again today. It is so like having young kids again. This may have contributed to a bit of a crash later, although I am feeling a wee bit stressed. Need to take my own advice from four years ago today and then follow through on it ...
