I always had respect for Gary Barlow, he retained a dignified silence when Mr W left; absorbed quietly, but surely with hurt, the insults and the slagging, and the fat jokes, welcomed said Mr W back into the fold when the TT Re-explosion took place, and did it all with a smile.

He was always the better person.

Last night, he showed up at the Closing Ceremony a week after his Baby was born still. He sung for the UK, he sung for the rest of his band. He sung for his Baby.

Performers at the Ceremony were not paid, they each had a token £1.00 contract. He doesn't need the money, his songs are played endlessly on the radio.

Yet still some less than human beings took to the internet to denounce him for "using any situation to boost his income", for "ignoring his wife". If you haven't read Jason Manford's piece, please do here; this is a man, who isn't a Take That Fan, but a human being, and boy has he hit the nail on the head.

Sometimes, the internet is not a good place to be.
