Iconic bird of mystery

What is it about owls that fascinate us so much more than any other bird?
Yet we fear them too. In some cultures the owl is taboo, others regard it as an omen of death. It belongs to the supernatural, to worlds we do not understand.
 
And this afternoon as crowds gathered around
Owl-Magic the largest travelling owl display team in Scotland in the Thistle centre, Stirling it was possible to see this spell in action.
 

As it's half term the shopping mall was heaving with children and the owls were in great demand to be held, stroked and photographed. (see extra photo).
