First day in Prague
How lucky I am.
Its our 20th wedding anniversary this year as you know. 10 years ago we went to the hotel where we spent our first night as Mr and Mrs. For our 20th we said we would go to Prague. And here we are.
What a lovely day, an early start 4.30am for a flight at 8.30am, a gin and tonic for breakfast and one for lunch. Has to be done when on holidays.
A visit to the bathroom turned out to be eventful but there is never a dull moment with Mr and Mrs C, today was no exception.
Mr C decided he'd like to sit by the window on the plane, this is fine, but the rules of sitting by the window are 'no sleep!' Lord help him if he did, he didn't and stayed awake for the whole flight. We had our usual crap to eat on the plane and duty free was ordered. All went well, no sleeping and we arrived safely at our destination.
We were met by the lovely mario in a mercedes car, who drove us to our hotel, a 20 minute journey, he showed us some sights along the way
Champagne and chocolates met us in the room which was very nice, we had a little nibble and got ready to go exploring. We found the old town is very close and sat in a restaraunt by 'the clock' waiting for this wonder to strike. It did at 3pm, it struck 14 for some strange reason, the skeleton rang the bell and some figures went round at the top. It was lke a big cuckoo clock. Very nice, the crowds gathered and it was over in a short time.
Drinks finished we went for a little stroll. We were on a little mission which we very nearly accomplished but more work is needed, we will however get there!
We wandered back to the hotel to have some more champagne and ready for our tea tonight. We went to the roof top restaraunt, it was lovely. Our own little booth and looking over this beautiful place. The meal was top notch.
After our day today we were tired so retired early.
A brill first day in prague.
