Working late!

Not me, the farmer.

I half jokingly said, as I left the office at 4pm today, that the easy part of my day was over. At 9.45 I have just sat down to write this. I do feel a sense of accomplishment this evening though!

Arriving home at 5.20 I had already contacted Henry so that he would be ready with the shopping bags. After a quick change, and a chicken check, we drove into Cromer. First Lidl, then diesel, then Morrisons. A big shop as last week had been such a small one. Not in budget, but not much over either.

We got home at 7.30 and I cooked dinner, while Henry emptied the bins for me. Then he prepared the bits he needed for his survival weekend camp. His kit list and food list is very specific. 3 eggs (I bought extra large) 2 slices of bacon(we chose back) and 2 sausages (again the largest we could find). Plus an assortment of other bits. He has a baked bean tin as a mug, is allowed just a spoon and plate, and will have anything else confiscated.

It has taken all evening since then to put it all away and then wash up.

I am looking forward to a weekend with some of my lovely girlfriends from Chester College, where we all met in 1984. They all have ridiculously long journeys travelling from Rugeley, London & Oxford. I hope they fall in love with this top edge of Norfolk and want to visit again. As we get older, things don't necessarily get any easier for any of us, but I think our differences all disappear as soon as we are back together reminiscing about student days. I'm lucky to still have such lovely, kind sincere friendships.

I took this photo on the road down from Aylmerton to Gresham. A single track road, tonight at about 7.25. I had to stop. It looked better in real life! There was a beautiful sunset just out of my range, and the bats were flying playfully as I pulled up at home.

I'm grateful for what I have. It is so precious.

Just an hour and a half more to stay awake, then I collect Mollie and her bike from work. Yawn...
