The Snake’s Head Fritillary

Back Blip

One day a year, a meadow close to St. Bartholomew's Church, in the village of Ducklington, is opened for the public to view the 'Fritillary'.  They grow in abundance here and the field has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

The church is also opened for you to walk around. Teas and cakes are served, Morris Dancers entertain and folk dress in tradition costumes.  If the weather is nice, it's a beautiful afternoon out.
