Splitting Hares?

After the excitement of seeing two hares yesterday, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw more today. 

My Daughter's dogs were dropped off here this morning and we immediately went up to White Horse Hill, to do the 8 mile circuit. It was very windy but lovely and sunny. The dogs had a great time but I was a bit disappointed not to have seen much wildlife. 

We were heading back when I spotted two hares playing beside the gate to a field. I turned the car around, swopped lenses and headed back. They had moved away from the gate but weren't the least perturbed by me getting out of the car. I stood and watched them for 20 minutes and noticed that there were others, crouched down in the grass. 

I've never seen so many this close before, so I was over the moon.
