I was told that there were a group of dotterels (birds) in the neighbourhood, so went to see them this morning.  There were around 20 or 30 I think.  A few twitchers have been out to see them.  I have to admit that I had never heard of dotterels before.

Had a cup of tea with my neighbours, and went to see their wildflowers, which are past their best now, but still very pretty.  I must make more of an effort with wildflowers next year: we planted some a few years ago without success, and gave up.

Weather deteriorated in the afternoon, so I did some more of my cross-stitch cushion, while listening to an audio book.
