Assimilation of Knowledge
first of September already and the first two thirds of the year have flown by. I didn’t want to get up early again, so headed into work as usual, then to the second half of my course. I had to bail out of the course at lunchtime, as a colleague had phoned in sick and a couple of urgent things needed to be dealt with today. I then had an extremely busy afternoon trying to deal with these and a couple of new things that appeared during the course of the afternoon.
We came home to find BB’s football letter on the mat. He wasn’t picked for the next stage, and was very disappointed, but was a little happier after a packet of hula hoops! It’s so hard to deal with disappointment when you are so young.
On my way back to the office at lunchtime I passed Charteris Land, part of Moray House at the University of Edinburgh. The front of the 1960’s building has a sculptured wall with three striking concrete art works. They were commissioned from a member of staff at Moray House. This one represents Assimilation of Knowledge where differing units are selected and sorted in a rational way to form an organic retrieval system.
