Staycation Sunday

I was playing crazy chicken lady this morning and I must admit that it felt quite satisfying to pick fresh eggs and blackberries whilst out walking Moss dog. After a three-in-a-bed snuggle we breakfasted and headed out for our day on the waterways.

We meandered from Canal Central in Maesbury, pootling for a couple of miles till we reached the Queen's Head for a pint in the sunshine. A three man canoe can make for slightly uneven paddling but it makes up for it in opportunities for good convo. A bit more meandering before a picnic lunch. I wonder if we might have paddled a tiny bit too far because about half an hour from getting back to our starting point mine and SS's arms completely gave up. Thankfully we had a big strong man in the back of the boat to steer us back to safety. Such a beautifully serene and calm time on the water. Clear room for improvement on the upper body strength though.

Back to Groove Cottage to pick up Moss Dog and then straight out for a walk up Rodders. Thankfully, we'd just dodged a massive rain storm and all we got was sunshine and blue sky.

Another night, another BBQ.

And now to crash, comatose, on the sofa. Too exhausted to even make it to the freezer for ice cream. Urgh.
