Staycation Saturday

Another day of exploring the locality today. Thanks to the tip-off from mother, we spent a couple of hours meandering around Montgomery. What a weird and wonderful little place to explore. It felt like stepping back in time and there was definitely an odd but quirky feel to the whole place. Plenty of antique and furniture shops, which suited the current mood. We walked up to the top of the hill and got some amazing 360 degree views over the Powys / Shropshire hills and valleys. The fields were stunning, and looked like tiny model farms made of plastic. Stopped off at the castle on the way down and bounded around on the ruins. Lush.

Then off to Shrewsbury to collect the human otherwise known as Sproutlover. He asked for meat and ice cream and he got meat and ice cream. Not together though, obvs. What a delightful boy he is. Looking forward to a couple of days of hill walking and canoeing.
