Fifty Golden Years
Today His Lordship and I were invited to a lunch party in the garden of two friends celebrating their Golden Wedding. I have known them singly and as a couple since childhood, so it was a delight to join them, their family and friends in the sunshine for the occasion.
There was a large turn out, with a marquee set out in which to eat.
One of their sons, more familiar to us reading the BBC Scottish News, gave a funny account of how the couple met all those years ago while camping in the Cairngorms and what a happy family it had been for the four children. Heart warming stuff.
To get to the lunch outside Longniddry, His Lordship suggested we could cycle. What was he thinking ? Arriving in Lycra, with helmet hair was not the look this Lady wanted to bring to the party, so he was persuaded to take a city Car club car thus allowing us to arrive in some style at least, even if 'Enterprise City Car Club' was emblazoned on the side in large letters. Beggars can't be choosers it seems.
