At least I think that's the word.   Eye-catching, whatever it is, among the rough texture of the peeling paint and shadow of the plant.
I made some pesto today and still have enough basil to make a few more containers.  Great to have pesto frozen for a quick meal with pasta or as a base for pizza.
Extra: Along with millions of other Canadians,  we watched The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration, broadcast live last night from the band's hometown of Kingston, Ontario,  I took a photo of Gord Downey on the tv.  What a remarkable and emotional concert.  I choked up when Gord kissed and hugged each  member of the band at the beginning and end of the concert.  The people who were lucky enough to be at the live event showed Gord a lot of love.  The band came back for three encores, an extra nine songs - I don't know how he did it.  He looked a bit tired and frail at the end.  Prime Minister Trudeau managed to score tickets, and I thought it was great that he was there to see what's likely the last concert from this legendary Canadian band.  For a bit more info and a link to a song,  I'm including a link to the blip from last night from bighill.
