Jump!

A relaxing day with these two!  We were anticipating the eclipse, all ready with pinhole cameras and cards.  We waited and waited, and noticed a slight decrease in the light and drop in the temperature.  Kalyn got a text from our daughter, asking what it was like over here.  Kalyn wrote back that we were still waiting, and R replied that it was over!   Slightly disappointed.  :)  We spent a couple of hours at Ruby's beach and saw lots of crabs, clams, geoducks.  It's always a must for the girls to go to Ruby's and I always wonder why I don't go by myself when the tide's out and there's a nice stretch of packed sand for walking. 
We're looking after our neighbour's place for a month while he's away, so he came down for a visit in the afternoon to give us a key.  The five of us sat in the garden and chatted about all kinds of things.  
Dinner at Auntie Pesto's is another must do, so off we went for delicious pastas followed by a wander around town.  When we got home, Kalyn, Markus and I played crib until it got dark enough to stretch out and star gaze.  A beautiful night with the sky full of stars.  There was a rather loud chorus of crickets, which got us going on eating crickets and all the dishes we could make with them.  G and I had watched a feature on the cricket burgers being served at the PNE this summer.  We had some good laughs at our cricket meal inventions and the idea of a cricket cookbook.  
Ruckle Park tomorrow because we didn't get a chance to go there last summer when Markus was here.  Can't wait - I do love Ruckle!
