Dad's Army

We've spent most of the day at The 40's weekend in Ramsey. A was volunteering in the Museum cafe and Mr T, C and I spent a long time wondering round the museum itself which is full of amazing local memorabilia. Lunch in the cafe and then a wander round the actual 40's event. Dads Army were there with Mr Jones and the original Butcher's van together with Captain Mainwaring, Sgt Wilson, Pike and Walker. We watched a re-enactment of a battle with lots of tank fire, high explosives and smoke around and finally we spent time in the big top listening to the Newmarket Big Band winding up their repertoire with a Glen Miller medley.

Although it's been very windy all day most of the heavy showers as forecast kindly passed us by.
