Tiny Tuesday - Tiny Beetle at the AOG

This one of the sniffer beetles found at the AOG doing the rounds of the team bases. They sniff out banned substances and report back to headquarters. Let's hope they're unsuccessful today so the games can continue as normal.

I love these little guys as they are so cute looking at about 5mm long, including the antennae. I've had an id from a local facebook group and it's a cereal leaf beetle "an Oulema sp of leaf beetle (Chrysomelidae) ... and is either O. rufocyanea or O. melanopus but is very tricky and unreliable to separate these 2 species from photos." Such a shame it's a pest as it's quite cute for a beetle.
