From small acorns grow mighty oaks

This morning the chaplain of EcoCngregation Scotland , Trevor Jamison, came to Dunscore to present us with a "Continuing Award" to recognise the  work we have done to care for the environment since 2003. 

After the service, we went on the Jane Haining walk around the village, visiting sites of importance in Jane's early life. We also walked up to the Millennium Wood, where there is an oak sapling which was grown from an acorn taken from Auschwitz, where Jane died. (see extra)

This was all followed by a picnic lunch in the church.
