Samye Ling
Today's assignment was to accompany the EAFS crew to the Tibetan Buddhist Monastery at Eskdalemuir and take some photos. They had arranged an interview with Lama Yeshe Rinpoche, the chief abbot at Samye Ling. He talked about the importance of peace and compassion, of the need for people of all faiths to get along together, and about how we must all care for the environment. His sense of humour and joie de vivre impressed us all.
Sian, who grew up at Samye Ling, took us to see the beautiful temple, and Sue bradley, an artist who works in the sculpture workshop, took us to see the Naga pond which is being made nearby.
It was a peaceful and inspiring place.
