Arts Pride

We had a late night last night, once we left our friends' house the slip road to the motorway was closed so we had to take the diversion, got home just after 1.15 am, so straight to bed.

Woke up to sunshine and some blue sky having slept well, but probably not, long enough. We had to pop over to the garage for some admin related things before we collect our new car next week. Once that was done we spent some time looking at dining room furniture as we do need a new table and chairs.

After that we called into the toy shop to get the final couple of things for both Emily and Caitlyns birthdays' then on to the supermarket for a few bits and pieces and half a tank of diesel....can't be giving the car back half full ;-)

Once we got home, had a sandwich the plan was to spend the afternoon trying to sort the garden out....the rain really has caused a lot of damage to the flowers. Our beautiful jackmanni clematis looks so sorry for itself, it's almost hanging off the fence and the blooms have wilted :-(.

Wouldn't you know it, the clouds came over, the blue sky and sunshine disappeared, the wind stayed and it felt chilly. Hub cut the front grass, we did some watering and deadheading, but our earlier eagerness disappeared with the sunshine. We are so fed up with this weather....even the weekend forecast is not great for us :-(

I did manage to catch one shot of our echinacea, called Arts Pride, in a brief shaft of sunlight. I have blipped this before, as its one we bought to remember hubs dad, Arthur, after he passed away a few years ago.

After our Thai delights last. Ight, we've had a plain fillet steak and mixed salad for dinner tonight :-)

Enjoy your weekend what ever you're doing :-)
