Hadrian's Wall
Another lovely day today with a quick visit to the pretty (and pretty hilly!) town of Alston en route to Corbridge, via Hexham.
After a stroll round the delightful Roman town of Corbridge, we met up for the first time with blipfriend Elspeth for tea and a scone. It was so good to meet her and she was as lovely and friendly as I'd imagined she would be:-).
Hope it won't be too long till we can meet up again and maybe next time we'll get to meet her husband too, who was sleeping after night duty today. These medical staff work such long hours!
We drove back a different way and I spotted a sign for Wallcrags (also called Walltown Crags) which I remembered seeing on a recent blip by Elspeth, so we parked up and went to have a look. Wonderful views all round from the top and lots of Hadrian's Wall still to marvel at.
We'd had only spots of rain all day, but just after we got back to the cottage the heavens opened up and it lashed down for ages. Glad we didn't get caught out in the open:-)
