A Day Out

We took the kids to Helix Park in Falkirk.
What a grand job of landscaping and planting of wild flowers the Council have done.
If only ours could take note and save money on weed killer and mowers!

While the dog got pestered and Squirrel and The Cygnet (not this one) played on the big structures ...... some very big structures! ....... I took some slightly abstract shots like both the inside and the outside of the giant slide at the same time (no idea how that happened). The wall isn't nearly as hap-hazard as it seems when you first see it.

After a while we walked on down past the canal locks to The Kelpies.
They are almost impossible to shoot in a new way so I went for the details - like the nose sniffing the seagull.
We sat and had a very nice lunch from the café (excellent quality and remarkably well priced) whilst being watched by this chap.

By the time we walked back to the car we had done well over 2 miles, spent a couple of hours at the play park, the kids were tired and fractious and my back was screaming, but all in all it had been a good day.
