Sherbet Lemon

This lovely pale lemon cosmos reminds me of a sherbet lemon Bon Bon.... I love it's colour!!

I only planted them up a few weeks ago, to fill a gap left by quite a few oriental poppies, they have worked a treat and are so pretty.

We were up relatively early again this morning.
Emily slept well, better than us.......I wanted to
do some laundry, including all Emilys clothes she had worn whilst with us, as she is off on holidays to Majorca tomorrow; daughter will have enough laundry to do when they return without another weeks worth ;-)

Emily enjoyed playing around in the bath this morning, not something she does at home, plus a hair wash, which is a job and a half in itself, it's quite long and very thick.......it still hadn't dried fully by the time we went out to her favourite place for lunch....Mackie Dees as she calls it ;-) we don't mind it once in a blue moon!

We stopped off in town for a few bits that we needed. Once we got home, I dried the remainder of the laundry, packed her bags, whilst she played gin rummy with grandad, she is very good at it, and won without any help, much to grandads exasperation! Then it was back into the car and off to daughters to drop Emily back home. We gave her some euros for spending money on her holidays..... that was the first thing she showed her Mum when we walked in ;-)

Once we were back home we got out into the garden as the weather had picked up quite a bit.....the sun had come out, although still windy!! A lot of deadheading was needed, some watering, despite the rain :-/ much more to do over the weekend though!!

Then it was indoors to get ready for our monthly meal out, pre quizzing, this month it has been our choice......so we opted for an Indian, which was very nice...l am still feeling full and its 11.45pm!!! We did really well at the quiz, until the penultimate round...fell away slightly and ended up , yes you guessed it, 4th again!!! However, we did get the 3 random questions right, you're offered a choice of 3 answers for each, normally it's not won, so the money rolls over, tonight it was £50....the bad news was that 2 other teams got all 3 right too, still, it's another £17 into our kitty :-)
