Black Current!
Not a very elegant picture but I have been busy all day and was running out of time. Todays blip shows one of two terracotta pots containing a Black Current shrub. I decided some time ago to deliberately plant a new fruit tree or shrub each year. Last year I grew two pots of Midgen Berry which is an Australian Native. It is an interesting almost savoury flavour which allows it to mix well with a main or desert. Unfortunately the immaturity of the plant last year meant that there was only enough fruit for tasting and not adding to a meal. In some ways my new yearly planting is like BlipFoto, requiring some research and planning and looking for a species of plant which does not exist in the garden, and a plant which produces fruit. The second shot is a closer look at the buds which I hope will spring into Spring. Lastly if you look at the main blip and the lawn, it will give an indication what I will be doing once the dew has evaporated. Hope your day is as you planned it.
