"We Do Matter!" Children's March

#DontShootPDX, led by Teressa Raiford, organized a day in Dawson Park for children, with "Know Your Rights" workshops, art projects, drumming and dancing, and a parade. About five hundred people showed up. There was sign-making, a joyful summer picnic, plenty of free water, and good spirits. ACLU educators talked about how to behave and stay safe if you are stopped by the police. The beauty of the children moved many of the adults to tears. May they all be safe. May they all grow up to become adults in a world that values and protects them.
