We should have been going out last night, only my body had other plans and decided to have a major cramping fit as I was about to get ready. I said we could still go, but Mr A said it wasn't worth it if I wasn't feeling well.

So instead, we finally went through the holiday itinerary again and got all of our excursions booked and (mostly) paid for.
There are other things we plan to do, but these ones are the ones we don't want to miss so needed to book in advance.

On our first full day in Cape Town we are going to round off the days sightseeing with afternoon tea at the Mount Nelson hotel. This was recommended to me by a couple of patients at work; I like following up on travellers tips.

We've also booked a full day wine tour of the Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Paarl Valley regions. We get collected from our hotel for this so at least we can both sample the wines without worrying about driving!

Mr A was keen to drive the Swartberg pass, which is 27km of windy, gravel road through the Swartberg Mountains, but I wasn't sure about doing this in a hire car, especially with some of the hairpin bends.
We've found a company that offer a private tour and again will pick us up from our hotel and take us out for the whole day.
The tour also takes us to the Cango Caves (another recommendation) and the surrounding area of Prince Albert.
I feel happier about letting someone else take us around, especially when they do that drive for a living and know the local area like the back of their hand.

Mr A got a voucher for his birthday for the Bloukrans bridge bungy jump, so that too is now booked and paid for (no backing out!).
It's the second highest in the world (he's done the highest one, which is in Macau, twice; facing forwards, then backwards, just for good measure!) at 216 metres above the Bloukrans river.
This isn't my thing, so I will just be a spectator, despite Mr A's efforts to convince me otherwise!

Lastly, is the shark dive. We are both looking forward to doing this and will be taking the GoPro with us for that, although the company we've booked with also offer photos and a video download for a small fee.

Now we just have to wait....8 weeks and counting :-)
