Evening Sail

Mike sailed the dinghy out to the boat this evening, only just enough wind, but he thoroughly enjoyed it and came back with a big smile on his face!

This is the little dinghy he fitted out, with the sail made from a Brentford Nylons duvet cover, treated with waterproof wood preservative!  It has lasted for years and looks lovely in the evening light.  

Because we launched at low water I had had to wade out knee deep to push Mike off, barefoot, in shorts, luckily!  Ollie and I carried on paddling and plodging about.  Unlikely as it may seem, warm seaweed is incredibly lovely to wade through, especially between your toes!  

For the record, siblings who are reading this, it was a lot warmer than childhood holidays at North Berwick or Bamburgh!
