Soapbox Science. Weather Under The Microscope.

Soapbox Science came to the city of Cambridge today, as some of the region's leading female scientists took to their soapboxes outside the Guildhall. Several speakers were there who came to showcase their particular science to the general public. This lady is Dr Sian Lane who had a large crowd ( behind me) listening to her speak. She is based at the Meteorological Research Unit at Cardington and loves fieldwork and flying large balloons  in the dark !  Her current work is focused on observational studies of radiation fog and to improve forecasting fog outbreaks. She explained it very well with simple demonstrations, and certainly cleared some of the fog from my mind !
