Invasion?

I think Easy Company must have got a bit lost on D-day - I spotted this when out on the moor for a walk this morning.

I'm not into war films but #2 daughter, who knows me well, recommended the box set Band of Brothers some years ago, and I loved it. It focused on character development as well as the affect the 44th Airborne's battles had on them, from the D Day landing, to the winter at Bastogne, Arnheim and eventually the taking of Hitler's Eagle's Nest. What made the mini series memorable for me was that the soldiers who where still alive when the series was made, gave their reminiscences at the beginning of each episode, and what came across was how well the actors captured these very different personalities. Captain Winters was such an admirable man, and his understated and dignified personality was impressively portrayed by Damien Lewis. Or maybe he was chosen for the part because this is how he plays everybody?!
