London!

It was an early start this morning but thankfully my train down to London was First Class so I got breakfast and plenty of coffee to help me pass the time.  Arriving in London the train had been delayed which gave me not very long to get to Regent Street and down the road to an appointment.  From there I made a quick dash to Carnaby Street to try and buy a very specific pair of trainers but they didn't sell them in the store!  Another quick dash and soon I was in the tranquility of The Mayfair Spa.

I'd visited the spa many years ago and decided I was due a treat.  An hour of relaxation in the sauna and steam room before a Morrocan Mud Cleansing Ritual.  It was lovely and I left the spa at 4pm feeling refreshed and relaxed.  I had an hour to kill before meeting my friend S at St Paul's so I tok a leisurely wander through Green Park, past the Queen's house and down the Mall.  I had worried that as I've got older London may have lost its appeal, become too full of people and make me feel claustrophobic.  Strolling along in the sunshine, admiring the quirky architecture and the monuments, I couldn't be happier.

I met S and we headed to the Green Room for burgers and prosecco.  We had a great time catching up, much to the waitresses amusement.  We then met two of S's friends and headed to the National Theatre.  J is in As You Like It which was being filmed for the National Theatre Live and he'd got us tickets.  Free drinks at the afterparty and then S & I left to try and get the train back to his.  We missed it, just as well it was only another 40 minute wait until the next one at that time of night!
