Animal Health Trust, Moulton

Newmarket has around 2000 horses in and around the town either in studs or stables. It is the home of Horseracing and we have two fabulous race courses The July and Rowley Mile courses. We are also very fortunate that we have fantastic open land where the Jockey Club allow the public to walk provided it is after 1pm when the horses have finished being exercised.

The Animal Health Trust is in our village of Moulton, and just a short walk from home and these horses graze in the fields beside it. Horses and other animals come here from all over the country for what I understand is fairly ground breaking diagnoses and operations. It is not the only such facility as we have the new Equine Hospital at the western end of Newmarket and also another similar veterinary practice in Six Mile bottom.

I watched a program recently about the work in some of these establishments and it was fascinating.
