The View from Torrisdale to Arran (with Maeve)
11.3C sunny and bright with a few short showers. Westerly wind to 24 mph with gusts to 32 mph in the morning moderating to a light breeze through the afternoon.
Apothecary7's day off.
This morning we popped Maeve the Deerhound in the car where she would be happy to have a snooze so we could go round a few of the local shops. Apart from browsing we came home with a pair of shoes for Apothecary7, two more rugs for the house, some more draught proofing for the front door, and some Salmon fishcakes with an oatmeal coating from the local fish shop.
In the afternoon we had a drive up the East side of the Kintyre peninsula to Torrisdale bay, just South of Carradale, which looks across the Kilbrannan Sound to the West coast of Arran approximately to Machrie. We had a wander about on the little beach. Maeve was off her lead and pottered about for ages, even having a paddle near the mouth of the Torrisdale Water which runs into the bay at one end of the beach. I found a few pieces of broken pottery with coloured glazes, and some Sea Glass, and Apothecary7 picked up two or three pieces of interestingly shaped bleached driftwood.
Later we had the fishcakes for dinner ... lovely !
