Anadolu Hisari
This is the second most famous "Hisar" in Istanbul, Anadolu Hisari. I live in Kavacik, right above Anadolu Hisari, and this is a picture I have taken when I was having a breakfast with my mom in a lovely, sunny weekend. It is a wonderful structure, and the Ottomans used to use this AND Rumeli Hisari (which are approximately opposite to each other in different continents) to flank and siege the ships that were trying to pass Bosphorus, however Anadolu Hisari is much much smaller than Rumeli Hisari.
When we had first moved to Anadolu Hisari, I had loved the fort, however something was caught in my eye. As it can be seen from the picture, at the bottom right corner, a road is passing right through the fort, and I had found this very awkward, because the walls of the fort seemed to be destroyed to build it. When I asked my mom and dad, they said that it was like that since forever, but I was quite shocked. There is no respect left for cultural heritages in our days. They are our legacy, our HERITAGE. I couldn't understand how such thing was done by our lovely government, I don't know whether they were high while making the decision, I just don't understand. But what I really can't understand is, how people let them do such thing and how it is being seen as something normal. I guess this is our main problem...
