She is going to HATE me!
I had a wonderful day out with the dochter and the grandchildren. We took the train from Burntisland into the big city, for a day at Edinburgh's Science Fair. She had packed a lovely picnic lunch, which we grazed on as we spent several hours going round the City Arts Centre.
The kids were booked into some workshops (Splat-tastic - learning about chemistry, something on computer programming involving Lego and a laptop, and then one on Physics, where they built a circuit and made an electronic piano) which were loads of fun. While they were in the workshops, we had plenty of uninterrupted time for chatting, which doesn't happen often enough!
After it was all over the children were awarded 7.75 out of 10 for good behaviour, and therefore (7.5 being the cut-off point for rewards) they got to choose where we went for tea. Yo Sushi anyone? I hadn't been before, and I didn't like the food much, but I do love to see my grandkids eat with enjoyment, and it is great to see that they don't crave burgers or pizza all the time.
Such a nice time was had, that there was lots of clowning about on the train home. Mummy produced this particularly hilarious party trick for them, of what to do with a used train ticket - BLIP!
Honestly - wouldn't you?
Extra pictures are the kids making a polymer in the chemistry workshop, holding up a model of a spider crab after the 'Living in a Coral Reef' one, and preparing to order more grub at the Sushi bar!
