First day - and first beer - in New Zealand

We left home on Tuesday morning - with the 13 hour time difference we arrived on Thursday in Christchurch. I hope to get this time back on my return! Although we had 3 flights, via Heathrow and Singapore, I was very pleased not to feel too bad on arrival.

We headed into town by bus and had a look at quake city, the cathedral and stopped by one of the containers to introduce ourselves to Speights. Here is Mr C enjoying his first beer in NZ. As the temperature was over 30 degrees it was very welcome.

We walked by the Avon and through the park before getting the bus back to our motel.

We slept 13 hours, and woke fully refreshed to pick up our camper van the next day.
