Pátzcuaro Workcarver

As I mentioned yesterday the main square in Pátzcuaro is lined with vendors selling all sorts of products, many of them specialty products from the surrounding villages. While it is fun to see the many different things for sale, what is more fun is seeing the occasional artisan in action. The amazing thing is the conditions under which many of them, like this woodcarver, work. Little or no light, cold temperatures and the constant interruption of potential buyers. Vendors like this put all that aside to work their magic with wood, fabric, reeds, and a host of other materials.
