Lovely weather for ducks

The car-park at Lower Lode on the banks of the Severn is always teeming with picnickers and today was no exception with the ducks using every available seat! The river had burst it's banks and was powering down with fast rising water and this made a great place for them to sit out of the current.
I looked more than a little wet and bedraggled having, with camera, tripod, lenses, umbrella and shower-cap (for the camera not me I hasten to add) unsuccessfully tried to 'duck and dive' the intermittent downpours. Many photographs later I was a bit more au fait with the AV/AF buttons (so I am learning something) and headed for home for a coffee where I was one up on the ducks, who just looked miserable on their picnic table.
"Lovely weather for ducks........' hmm whoever coined that phrase really didn't have a clue.
