From the dark corner.....

By Rozwood1970

It's pretty warm down here, but it ain't sunny!

I felt a bit jaded - maybe it's the weather? - so even though I was in Ayr I stayed in for Saturday evening with Mom. We watched 'The Woman in Black' with a sherry. I say 'watched' but I dozed off in the middle of it so couldn't tell you whether it was good or not!

I didn't fancy a walk down the beach in the pitch black later on so the remains of a candle are my subject. We tend to have candles always lit since Dad died. I've always liked them anyway but Mom has found it comforting to light candles every day. We have tea lights on the mantlepiece and some stumpy fat candles which were gathering dust at the back of the cupboard for ages. They look quite pretty in the red glass containers from a shop up the road. Very warming and I like the light effect.

Highly inappropriate I know but the red colour and flame put me in mind of one of my favourite Alice Cooper albums - Alice Goes to Hell. It's very funny and the title of this blip is in the lyrics of this track. The words are great and always make me smile. I hope you listen!
