Caen Hill (Monday 14th March 2016)

I had quite a busy day in a small way on Monday. In the morning I replaced the monitor for this PC with a new 24" one while playing the 4CD version of The Last Waltz, and in the afternoon I visited C. in Melksham, dumped the old monitor at the recycling centre, bought petrol, bought groceries and take-out coffee from Waitrose, took a towpath walk between Marsh Lane and Foxhangers on the way home, had a chat on the phone with my brother about some financial business and to arrange meeting up in a couple of days, replayed Laura Marling's concert from the 6 Music Festival on the iPlayer to test the new monitor and later in the evening watched The Walking Dead and the final X-Files of the newly revived series.
At Caen Hill I noticed a group of mallards, the ducks of which had attractive variant plumage, shown in the Extras, which also includes some watery ripples reflected on a lock gate.
The Blip was taken into the gloaming as I looked back on the return walk. I'd been watching a couple of narrowboats navigating the locks. They were travelling west and were about to ascend the mammoth flight of locks at Caen Hill on their approach to Devizes.
