Dancing firelight

I have been admiring several beautiful blips of candles recently so decided to have a go with my new chocolate candle as the subject, a lovely birthday gift from Catherine which passed from her to her parents to my parents to me and finally arrived when my parents visited this weekend - it has travelled around a great deal of England since February! Anyway, I experimented with the macro setting and the flash, and am still not completely satisfied with the result but will keep trying. I like the reflection of the flickering flames in the fireplace, which was why I chose this shot as today's blip. Ben now has a new camera in order that we can take plenty of photos of Joshy, so as soon as I have time to absorb the long and complicated instruction book, I will hopefully be able to take some better-quality shots of candles and other beautiful things!
