Peaceful
We've been to a funeral today, which pretty much dominated the day - we set off to get there mid-morning and returned late afternoon after the "wake".
The lady in question was the mother of a couple of my oldest friends and was a wonderfully creative woman who had once taught pottery at Haberdashers' School and had taught some subsequently well known characters as David Baddiel, Sacha Baron Cohen and Matt Lucas. I have quite a few of her lovely pieces around the home, and one of my favourites is a porcelain mushroom which she made specially for me.
Sadly she had suffered from Alzheimers for a number of years and her quality of life had been poor, so her death was a release. It was lovely to be involved in the celebration of her life, and a privilege to have known her.
