Just Keep Swimming...

A late start for Dwelody this morning due to the drunken bar crawl last night. However, we had planned to meet our 4 new fabulous Belgian buddies - Bart, Dimitri, Gerret and Jeroen. Bart thought it would be a good idea to see if we could swim the ENTIRE lake (if you have been to Lake Bled, you would know this is quite a task!) With Dwyer not being one to pass down such a swimming challenge she took on the boys.

Meanwhile Dimitri and Melody acted as support/first aid/ wanted to show off their immense rowing skills and hired a boat to row alongside the crazies. It was a trek to say the least for both swimmers and rowers...(one oar was broken making the task of rowing quite difficult but with Melody and Dimitri's epic team work they got there!) Dwyer and Jeroen very impressively made it to the island!!! Woohoo! It took about 1 hr 30mins of constant swimming, near choking instances due to choppy waters and managing to avoid random rowing boats!

Bart however was not so lucky...after swallowing half the lake the support boat swung into action...however...this support boat wasn't really made for picking up tired swimmers, so instead they helped Bart to the side of the lake...not knowing that they were leading him onto someone's garden...with the owners fast asleep, fishing on the edge of the water...hmmm. Narrowly missing their fishing lines and smashing into their motorboat they finally managed to get Bart to the side; however, on departure, Bart did have to explain to a bemused semi-conscious Slovenian why he was in his garden....hilarious.

After a quick sightseeing trip round the island and a family picture Dwyer and Jeroen joined Melody and Dimitri in the rowing boat to get back to shore...(which again thanks to the broken oar ended up being a challenge). Turns out Melody LOVES Belgians arguing in Flemish and we were in hysterics the entire way home (which was a while as we ended up going round in circles/zigzags for the majority of the time).

After, we reconvened altogether and had a cheeky ice cream. Melody was told by the vendor that she ordered too nicely...so Bart took this advice - 'I want this F****** ice cream' *tastes it* 'its F***ing S***'....the vendor did see the funny side and was laughing, don't worry! Yes our first encounter with Belgians and they are crazier than us! Constantly in hysterics, we love them!

Dwelody cooked another pasta/kettle/microwave speciality and dolled ourselves up for another night on the town with our Belgian boys. Not as mental as the previous night but we did think it would be a hilarious idea to teach them the Call Me Maybe dance... got to try and spread it around the world don't we!? Was hilarious and yes we did catch it on film! Again, just going for a "few drinks" never works for Dwelody... especially after we order Long Island Ice Teas! Oooooh dear.

Travelling to be done tomorrow...with a hangover. Yay. Fortunately we will be travelling with the boys so I'm sure it won't be too bad!

Lots of Love,

Dwelody xxx
