Heaven on Earth
That is the name of the place where I took this tonight.
We came out of the Gaiety Theatre in Douglas at about half past nine having watched a very enjoyable production of a John Godber play 'April in Paris'.
Some of the few clouds in the sky had a red tint and we realised we were missing a good sunset. Douglas faces west and the best sunsets are over Peel on the east. No time to get there but on our way back we took a detour to a slightly higher point above a valley where the view is called 'Heaven on earth'.
The sun was gone but you can still see the light on these rather dark clouds.
A strange day. I agreed to accompany my friend this afternoon on a WI outing. (One of the ladies had told me she lived at Heaven on Earth). We were to have a short walk along some country lanes overlooking Derby Haven and Castletown, in the area known as Santon, then have a cup of at someone's house. Fine.
The house turned out to be one newly built where a farm had stood near the coast for £20,000,000. Some house - we had a guided tour before our cuppa!
