shore line

early start today for the hour and a half drive to Roseneath, on the Firth of Clyde, where we have our old wooden yacht at the boatyard there. she is 33ft bermudan cutter built in 1936 called Isonda and is a major restoration project. Wielding a mallet and crowbar to prise chipboard off the deck is laborious, back-breaking but ultimately satisfying work. after a couple of hours we took a break to go for an ice cream and a short visit to see a wonderful house only a five minute drive from the boatyard. designed by Edwin Lutyens and built in 1896, Ferry Inn is a magnificent example of an arts and crafts house. I will put a photo of it in my folio and a search on the net reveals that it is actually available for holiday let - it is here if you want to see.

before getting back to work I took the chance to do a few photos of the lovely scenery, and was particularly taken with these old wooden posts, perhaps from an old pier or jetty, near the shore. I like the way they make lines, so you can't tell where they end and their reflections start.

home for a shower, a quick dinner and drink at our local Wethersppons, which was SO noisy, we left and went to Tesco's for wine to have at home. and here we are. a good day.

this is my entry for weekend blip challenge on the subject of 'line'
