Drawing What You See.

For the first half of the year the whole school will focus their learning on the concept of Taonga ( a treasure in Maori )  I have decided to take biking as a modern taonga.  Rotorua was one of the early adopters of mountain biking and keen people developed tracks through the areas of forest that are on the cities edge.  Odd to think that mountain bikes have only been in use since  the late 1970's.  Because of our network of tracks we have become a mecca for bikers and have hosted several world championships.  All the children's art this term will be related to bikes.  This morning this group of 10 year olds were using view finders to isolate parts of the bike which they then had to sketch.
