Didn't have any idea what I would blip today, so when this appeared half way through the morning... a quick dash in for the camera and voila!

I don't suppose there are many in the UK who live on the coast are not familiar with the Westland Sea King helicopter. It's been the main air-sea rescue workhorse for the about the last 35 years and is probably going to be replaced soon. This one may have been on a training mission with the local lifeboat, or may have been taking part in a rescue, but the route it left, I reckon it is on it's way back to RAF Wattisham in Suffolk.

The Sea King has it's own familiar noise and of the four regular types of chopper we have fly over, it has a reassuring sound, where as both the air ambulance and the police helicopters have a much more urgent buzzy sound. They are all overshadowed by the army's Apache attack helicopters, which also fly out of Wattisham which has a distinctive slicing noise.
