Feeling Poorly
Back when I was a young Mum, and my wee girl was feeling poorly, I would tuck her up in my bed with the record player belting out Disney hits, and with a pile of Bunty annuals to read. Not feeling very well meant being fed with the family favourite - mashed eggs in a cup (soft boiled egg with salt and pepper, chopped up with butter, in a cup, and eaten with a teaspoon).
This weekend my daughter and son-in-law were off at a friend's 40th birthday party, so G and I were looking after the Bandits for the weekend. Arlo was suffering a sore throat and a hacking cough, while Ida just had the hacking cough.
Sunday morning, G is suffering a horrendous hangover from an engagement party (which I didn't attend, thank goodness) last night, so I am on my own with the kids and their ailments. My little grandson and his new glasses, is tucked up on the sofa playing on my Hudl while his sister is still sleeping (thank goodness, as he has been awake since 4.30am!).
By 10am I have given them both some breakfast, put washing into the tumble drier, unblocked the toilet (stomach upset - don't ask), tidied up the kitchen, and given the dog his breakfast.
All I can say is: thank goodness for Lego games on the tablet, or I don't think I'd have got anything at all done today.
