Bouquet
Otherwise known as lunch. I am delighted that we are still harvesting lettuce planted in October (though it probably says as much about the level of our lettuce consumption in winter as anything else).
Before lunch some slight disappointment that the heating guy didn't turn up as promised, but then a chatty trip around the market, a decent lunch and all this sunshine added some cheer.
CarbBoy was playing in the team above his today (ie against kids two years older, and - turns out - two feet taller). His team lost, but put up a very good performance and probably learned a lot from the unsporting behaviour of the other team. There are conventions to follow when you are ahead (if someone has scored 5 baskets, you take them off, and so on) but they were having none of that, AND shouted at the referees AND harangued the referees at the end of the match (even though they won). Bad sports. And they were dirty players. And one of them tripped CarbBoy deliberately mid-air so he's now hurt.
Well it feels good to get that off my chest. Happily, one of the other Lavaur parents got it off her chest too by having an unnecessarily loud conversation about it all with her 3 year old daughter whilst sitting amongst the other team's supporters. I'm glad CarbBoy is in a club that values proper sporting behaviour.
Anyway, later, a nice sit outside in the sun with Mr B - who has nearly finished stage 2 of the shower building - and a chat about the next few months. Shortly arriving, a smorgasbord of leftovers and probably a movie. The holidays have started.
